I have contributed code to major open source projects, and have dealt with issues being submitted by the general public on others.
I have also been made to feel like the significant effort I made in filing an issue, and even offering to pay real money to have a feature added, were complete wastes of time.
I have even but subjected to abuse by people who thought they knew better than me.
When filing an issue, I feel the need to justify it, and preemptively address likely objections. Filing a "simple" issue may take me an hour or more.
The subtoot, though, was really about “don’t annoy the people I boost, especially if you’re going to tag me in the reply”.
