The whole thread is interesting – if only to see what counts as "avantgarde" these days and what banalities they're occupied with. "Community gardens", "mutual aid societies", "bike repair workshops", really? Still the same worn-out fantasies from the high times of Ernest Callenbach, Whole Earth Catalog, stuff that never worked, conceived by "alternative" "communities" and movements that never realised how their very existence presupposes the humming-in-overdrive of the extractivist and exploitative economy they're so happy to criticize. They never came up with viable alternatives, not for the past 60 years. But as their worldly recycling schemes don't work, at least their recycling utilities for ideas keep running.
