The original homeland of the people dubbed Aryans (nobles of blood and spirit) and spoken of in the Vedas is in the Pontic-Caspian steppe. The Aryan migrations and invasions which began roughly in 6000BC are the reason you find so much R1 Y-DNA all over the place, especially in cultures that honor horses and horse archery.
This even reaches Japan, as many of their artistocratic bloodlines have traces of ancient steppe dweller blood.
