Cousin_Martha_Corey@xzy45 This is something I don’t know how to explain to conservatives. If I am not capable of raising a child to a standard I find acceptable for a child, and if I look around the world and decide that being placed into it with a random family, away from me, is not an acceptable outcome, I might decide that an early-as-possible abortion is the best option. They see that as monstrous. I think it’s because they think the outcome will be in keeping with God’s plan, so it’s automatically a good one. As an atheist, I just do not see it the same way.
I thought American values were freedom, individualism, and hard work – not that I particularly like hard work, but it’s what comes to mind as what is usually meant.
