@fullywoolly @Recalcitrant @mayintoronto @TheBreadmonkey it’s definitely fully veg if it says 素 but places that are not Buddhist have a very poor understanding of vegetarianism, which to many non temple related folks is just no red meat, so obv chicken and fish is fine. It reads more like ‘avoiding red meat’ (than ‘no meat’ but also they don’t really see things that are not red meat as meat, if it helps)

A veg place will have veg chicken and veg fish but varying levels of how good it’ll be. I tend to prefer places that use things like mushrooms instead of soy mock meats anyway.

Desserts tend to have pork in the south of China since we don’t have any butter at all
