Maybe I'm just more cynical, people rally around race or religionm these days and if those isn't a good signifier of alliegiance then people will cling to generational divides. The point is I don't think Americans can ever truly band together because there's always some way we sort ourselves into different groups to avoid helping each other.

Edit: or at least give us an excuse to not help one another, boomers don't feel like helping Millennials because they think we should figure it out on our own, and Millennials won't help Gen Alpha because we let technology babysit them during their formative years
