At this price, it's enough to buy a decent old used vinyl plotter and a cheap transfer press (avoid hobby plotters), but a $900 DTF printer is gonna be hobbyist grade and about as fast as a laser printer from 20 years ago. Supplies for hobby machines (ink and powder) are gonna eat your profits as a light snack and ask for more, but if you don't care about getting your money back (or the quality of the final product), a desktop setup will print enough to satisfy a demand of a dozen or so prints in a weekend (depending on size). If you're shooting for a larger volume and want to keep the footprint small, you'll probably want to budget at least $3k for a printer, and it should pay for itself in a couple years.
