@ai6yr @Datenegassie So I know someone who had a Capri. It got totaled on his way to work one morning, when he drove on a narrow road and met a lady in, I think, a station wagon, heading in the opposite direction. He bought it back from the insurance company.
He took it apart. A p a r t. All of it. 100%. His garage looked like an auto repair and detailing shop.
The frame went to a company called Precision Frame to get it straightened. He had the engine bored and stroked. Added headers and tuned exhaust. Racing suspension. He had the rims widened by cutting them and welding a spacer into the center of each, and then mounted racing tires. He got actual Capri racing fenders for it. All new rubber parts. I forget what tranny it had, but the shifter was, I think, K&K. He got Recaro seats. He painted it violet and purple. It was absolutely gorgeous, a great ride, and was stolen within a week.
His wife also fell for a waiter because she was eating out while he worked on it.
There is a part of me that wishes they got back together, history was repeating itself, and that this photo was posted by her.
