@gav @jeffcliff @ssfckdt goods will get to america via non traditional means, they will cost more than double as they will use land routes via mexico and canada. importers have no way to force suppliers to eat 100% tarrifs. seeing as how trump is halfway through his 90 day pause no importer will be willing to risk containers coming in at a unknown date where they pay unknown price on the goods. they will be fighting extreme levels of smuggling at lower prices.

China will not negotiate unless the trade war is announced by trump to be over and no further changes made.

So trump has to capitulate which looks like he dont wanna.

therefore nothing is changing, nothing is happening.
