@adiz Walsh is really putting forward the reasonable centrist opinion here. Prior to boomer obsession with Israel, this was too obvious to warrant mentioning, and other than the carveout for israel, I don't think it was expected until .. I dunno, past 2010?

The whole aids africa thing is the only thing I can think that at all is contrary to that, but even that was something that was seen as a private donations/ UN going in to stop massacres thing.
