I disagree, the people at fault in this story are the publishing industry. They have lobbied for extensions upon extension of copyright law, against the wishes of the people.

The Tik Tok zoomers are people who struggled to pay for their overpriced college textbooks and wanted to help others.

Without the Pirate Bay, Netflix would never have been able to offer streaming. Nor would there be a Spotify.

The Pirate Bay didn't make such a massive change by being obscure, it spread through word of mouth, and managed to help the consumer in the end.

It's unfortunate that the owner of Z-lib is in jail, but he needed better OPSEC, he should have realized what he was getting into.
