@h5e I'll set aside the parasocial relationship to the Pope that comes with a lot of Catholic culture and talk about how I personally felt the death of Chris Cornell. His music was a big part of my youth and he was a generational symbol. Unlike Layne Staley, he seemed to have cleaned up and wouldn't be a tragedy. He was only 4 years older than my partner. It was a very personal reminder that my youth is fading and my generation, including those I love, now faces mortality.
