@scathach @kaia Yeah, kind of. The Verfassungsschutz, or Office for the Protection of the Constitution (there is a federal one and 16 on state level) is the domestic intelligence service in Germany. For constitututional and ultimately historic reasons, it is separate from the police services and has no law enforcement authority. Their covert sources are sometimes associated with domestic terrorism (e.g. related to the NSU and the murders in Hanau).
