The difference:

the new site fails for me because NoScript is my friend and blocks javascript. The old site was perfectly readable without it.
I generally block javascript whereever i can because that's how you get the trackers and malware working.

So, for me, i liked the old one better. And i don't care what format the information is presented in as long as i can easily access it.
