@freemo Slow process is ok freemo as long as it surely achieves something right for those people involved.
However it's also true these people might not even know what that is for themselves and just join and leave like anything else.
I actually wouldn't need all that and see myself more of an organiser / creator / helper to see who and what there is to work with more in the now first - not need to wait really and attract those that can communicate (foremost perhaps) and help (themselves or others) and be interested in helping (yes it's not perfect either as who wants to help right?) but there will be a bit of a focus too to attract others and create something that sings to people in different ways since it can be accessible to everyone... now... if they can be a bit social about it (which is the doomed part here perhaps admittedly with or without membership).

Just getting some communication going about what people want and can do (outside of just code) would be great and part of my idea to get some action going without anything other than Mastodon as safer software base and simplest to do the communication...
You are perhaps MVP here, not just as owner but good because you work well with words / people (again communication). I'm not actually sure about anyone else on the whole internet or even planet - maybe 2 others - honestly... I have tried in person and online almost all my life...
...and they aren't as consistent as you, have family problems, add a whole list etc, Just a big fail if I'm honest / perhaps jumped into too many containers / responsibilities to manage them properly / damage themselves and others.
So I'm wary of membership / US company right now (for many reasons) but also just before a few more tests, because it's jumping into 'another' unknown container / another 'project' first - and if that also means the name-and-number-passport-control - then count me out or count for a different way first.
If that stops my progress here then it's also evident which comes first / is priority.
The real work I / we need to do needs a mix of people in and out of things - and all that to inter-work together - so for me real change is something else first as eco-system I describe below.

If I can work with others who can already see me here and visibly flag anything I believe that's already enough without needing more or assuming more political attachments / extensions of existing ones (setting up a company inside the bigger company.

What I see everywhere is certainly limited / doomed by deliberate-design (for-profit or not) and this is not some rant either ! You get more with me and eventually that kind of politics or transparency is some of the best / highest we need.
People argue usually at the end and all the crap comes out at the worse time :) You can think about all this and really put certain pieces first...
Otherwise same happens in a trace-back kind of system (which maybe I'm over-judging but still worth saying) so that once you get close to actually changing things (if you do) then it's just as easy to eliminate / take over / #rugpull / drag you into legal.
Ironically if it's really reallt not-for-profit and doing it's worse sometimes.

The way I do things protects me and future "them" / generation while keeping it among the people / us a bit more and ethereal so we constantly keep working. I'm not totally invisible but essentially less asking for baggage and what we need to do a bit more purely ourselves anyway as it's all hole-in-bucket / fight-for-us or starve / no free-lunch unless really here in this context...
I'd personally like to give what I can and be observed / guided by everyone and have the people that I can communicate with as my feedback gauge - their testimony representing the work done and needed to do.
I'd like to be more transparent in that and help people feel it's ok for pseudonyms online again and increment trust (even to expose me / their own insecurities is fine too!). This is actively saying more here rather than to con anyone or believe any terms and conditions members will have read or have money involved is going to help than much more in my interested. People already do their own thing, it would just funnel it here more...
Not being combative or a rebel here - just people are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from your level so it's mostly FAIL here and everywhere, just with donation buttons. Can't even contribute to them.
So if I hear from anyone else in QOTO then I'll try them too but not before anything, not the other way around.
Ideally QOTO would let me do my thing, as usual almost, but under a bit of guidance and crowd-help since I'm the one having a kind of "badge for testing" around here or "creating a vehicle to help people grow things more organically according to what they individually want for them or in life" as any title to see the produce from the people as we go (we all have tons of shit to play with).
It is a bit different and consistently ad-hoc adding people's own material and life, but I'm not sure what else actually works if communications are near-0 and not worked on AS THE WORK to improve with or without titles... so yes logo / badge here might not even be enough for people outside of QOTO because there's not much social in the world - just re-blogging or hanging around emotional #trump / #musk hashtags killing time rather than actually doing things with our own things....
(...but if you're reading this and not freemo, as long as it's your stuff we can all re-mix / use as components and create to see what happens from those that are here for similar reasons!)
So, rather than set up a "matrix" or that whole bunch of things first to jump into. I'd like to see who there is first in that company and not conclude all your members are also non-speakers :)

This writing may be over-writing it all but one thing I've learnt over time is that learning others to work with is very important
(BOTH at the start or in the end it) as it all comes back to these things.
Saying it all more than not should eventually be better if not for me than others who are still needing it said to decide themselves.
For now - seeing who I can work with a bit more / feeding me is anyway the case until we see what else created might be different in the world. (remember what I said helping the homeless - it's is not just about the giving of money, - goes much beyond that hole-in-bucket system - same goes for this even as not-for-profit it's all using banks as bad buckets / war funding ).

All this can seem cart-before-horse (front wheel drive for cars
let's say) but it can all still work and has done... if we simple let it and create our own system / ways... and just observe over time what works for people (again they need to see to believe and that's only by doing a bit first like first party-dancer on their own).
So I need that badge / t-shirt lol... ok I've said badge but anything that helps people feel ok about doing social more (which is hard) or helps them feel more part of a unit or project (not just $tate-owned sub-company container).
Anyway I wrote all that quick as there is a bit of politics in everything - so it's said first as it might take your years to get why not using what is given by arguably bad hands for you to work in as container (again happy if they exist a bit but other things have to exist more now to help really solve things or not contribute to the bad).,
and I truly would like QOTO as a social thing to respect it's acronym - getting people together as the work, seeing better articulation and participation as a go-to server of sorts. perhaps a bit more loosely / no pay-gate way and few good people stewarding can increase mass / traffic / pooling for projects a bit more than forums still do today for similar reasons between people.
