- Embed this notice@kimapr @arcana @scathach @mirabilos in most instances the economic dynamics are still there (even tho it's mostly not really related to the cold war in the first place) and to me that word is mostly an anti-imperialist combat term. many countries especially in africa and to some degree south america are still effectively colonized, with the majority of land and weath owned by a white/european minority, with western corporations using the country's resources and population for cheap labor, and with the imperialist countries controlling the local governments and coercing then into privatization, deregulation and following their capitalist agenda using aid, economic/diplomatic soft power and often also military force. the "first world" and the "third world" de facto have a relationship similar to the capitalist class and the working class.
also the cold war is pretty much back in almost its original form lol
