@nyx yeah it feels like a lot of the function of 80s-10s idpol academia has been to dilute direct but socially unpalatable discussions of oppression dynamics into byzantine ressentiment calculations. & then a whole generation of marginalized progressives learned that framework and have been trying to reverse engineer explanations of power dynamics from limited conceptual tools like privilege, while still stumbling on all the ways that they're libidinally entangled in oppressive structures.
