If Trump wanted to primarily go after China with huge tariffs in a way that'd get the market to accept it, it'd be pretty clever to bury the China tariff among a massive collection of retardedly harsh tariffs for the whole world, then make the market breathe a huge sigh of relief when you pull all of them but China's a few days later. I'm far too skeptical of the le 4-D chess meme to actual believe that was the plan all along though.
