A lot of parents would spoil their kids to hell and back with games and consoles, because they've been gamers themselves at some point in their lives. But when there's simply not enough children to begin with, and political leaders are salivating at the idea of importing more human beings, like cattle, than babies being made... It's simply a better investment for companies to focus on adults.
Case example: you're Valve and want to do research on a new gamepad or joystick.
Is it a better idea to focus your research on how children hold a gamepad, when your birth rate is predicted to keep dropping, and nobody even wants to fix it (and there's enough conspiracy theories that elites work to make it drop more)?
Or should you do your research on adults, since you know politicians insist that we will import more and more adult human cattle, at least until the end of the century?
In the first case, your research is less and less relevant as time goes on, but in the second case, the research remains useful and pays dividends for a long time.
