@agaperealm @arcana @georgia @icedquinn @lucy @sun oh yeah also try using the wheel through deserts and rough terrain and without native pack animals like horses that can be used for pulling that transport (yes the north had camels it was better off for a reason but most of africa did not)
they had wheels and carriages for far back in history they just didnt work well in the environment. when you have pack animals its easy to force them to pull a wagon through rough terrain but when you dont it makes sense to just carry things, im sure youve experienced this with something like a wheelbarrow before
when pack animals were imported they absolutely picked up use of this in areas with suitable terrain and built roads. but for example in the north it was generally easier just to have camels carry things
