However, I think we should look out if it would make any difference besides taxes destination (something that already is enough to avoid). I mean, when we talk about e.g. .org, what entities really control it? I wonder if it would be possible to the US government to somehow take over our domains.
I believe a .br domain theoretically could be subject of an intervention if a Brazilian court authorizes it, so I wonder if the same could happen in the US. It's public knowledge that authorities there already have been doing infinitely much worse, atrocities, with foreign citizens without any previous court orders or even directly ignoring them. Anything they could do to our domains would be negligible in their consciousness.
