Now that same 18 an hour won't get you an apartment 😏 that's the difference. It's the fact that there's tons more obstacles than the boomers ever have as basic necessities have become cost prohibitive and you require a roommate or girlfriend with a job to split the cost of living burden just to eat and maintain some standard of living. I was making 19 an hour last year and could only afford the top bunk in a shared room at a halfway house that was charging me 750 a month. It's a nightmare but the boomers don't give a flying fuck as long as you're out of their hair. Every other racial group is making the same wages except they stick together as a close knit family unit and all go up on a place together and live decent lives. Boomers think parenting and family responsibilities were just another job that they got to retire from
