@i @mischievoustomato feld is also lately interested in Delta chat, so it makes sense that his interest in Pleroma has dropped somewhat. He did a bunch of major changes/improvements and then moved across the country, so it makes sense to me that he would want some time without touching it. The reason why the nasty Oban bug was fixed in the first place was him talking to the maintainer directly while having access to one of mint's instances.
