Unfortunately installing a different OS yourself on a phone is not for everyone! But it is doable if you're technically inclined and follow instructions perfectly.

Otherwise I'd recommend buying second hand and installing an OS yourself. Not easy for phones, but mostly easy enough for "anyone" on PC's. Look at @linuxmint and Zorin OS.
