@CoQ_10 @Sovereign @Bad_Banner i think it has a lot to do with cracking down on underage drinking. when i was in high school, you could just walk into a bodega and buy whatever beer you wanted. the spics that ran the places didn't spica de english and probably didn't even know it was illegal to sell minors alcohol. it wasn't until about 2001 or so, that they started forcing businesses to card. idk how it was in middle America, but I think there was less stigma to buying teenagers alcohol back then.
