> And I've never understood the doxx thing. I mean... operation or not, why is everything so personal these day when most of the "content" is innocuous compared to what we were posting on irc or on private BBSes in the 1990s.
We let normies onto the internet.
In Claire's case, she'd been swatted a few times, including at least twice while on a live stream, and the dox drop happened while she was doing a political stream about trans people; draw your own conclusions about why someone would want to hassle her. She claims to have retired from the internet after that last one. This wasn't just dox, it was tax returns, her divorce proceedings, CC numbers, passwords, session cookies, etc., they owned her Frantech account, which is how they got into the server and replaced the contents with her dox.
> My personal opinion is just take a breath and let people have fun. Men fraternizing and being generally crass is how it's been for millenia.
Seconded, yes.
