@Humpleupagus Was it a "muh destination wedding" where they just had immediate family standing around on a distant beach?

I don't really trust people who consider the "wedding" and "reception" two distinct events with no relation. The wedding itself should surround the bride and groom with all of the important people in their life. Not their parents and the Filipino resort staff.
