Jenny- a mastodon friend recently posted something about a “VCR camera” and I thought back to when my dad had the big clunky kind with a shoulder strap, and how they got small enough to hold in one hand. Thought about how back then they were called “camcorders…I wonder where that name came from. It’s like they were cameras…that recorded. Camera recorders…camcorders…omg!” I was so excited that I shouted to my partner who was making dinner to share my discoveries with him. He was unimpressed lol
