InfoseepageOMW to The Rock of Cashel. Check out the Cahir Castle interior today. They have an excellent exhibit of the 1599 siege by the Earl of Essex, who took the castle after bombardment. About 80 defenders were killed when they attempted to flee into the night. There are still two cannonballs stuck in the keep and a forward tower from that siege.
