I being an Eastern Catholic am already viewed with suspicion by them (I don't care, lol) and don't particularly care if Mel is a sede or not. Denying the silliest parts of their tradition when they enable bad actors doesn't hold as a sufficient argument for me in the age where the church has already declared those who were born Christian Protestants as non-heretical. They can't have it both ways in saying The Catholic Church and its communion has a monopoly on the faith while acknowledging the legitimacy of the faith of those born outside the church. It's wordplay to me until I hear a sufficient argument or feel a spiritual pull to correct my belief.
