@justyourluck It's a virus. Antibiotics can sometimes help when there is bacterial co-infection, but there really isn't "medicine" that can get given to these birds to significantly alter the mortality rate. My understanding is the mortality rate in chickens is near total and it is both fast spreading and fast acting. I think it's widely accepted the complete culling and sterilization of facilities is the only real way to address the problem once it's in a particular farm operation.
