- Embed this notice@HebrideanHecate I have mixed feelings about breakfast in schools. I've run several breakfast clubs which are just an extension of paid childcare for working parents. But the idea that school provides breakfast on the assumption that parents can't/won't do it for their own children is a nasty tentacle of the *the state is the parent now* culture.
We know that there have always been families that are negligent, but are we now to set the bar so low that we assume all families are negligent or that we treat all families as being at the lowest setting so the negligent ones don't feel bad?
