Maybe he did it though some scammy investment schemes or government subsidies, but the rockets do fly, and before him rockets didn't fly like that. For me personally it's something to consider.
And also cars are riding. Before tesla no one considered electric vehicles even somewhat of a competition to those powered by combustion engines.

That said, i agree that he was always some kind of sussy retarded autist doing weird things that look like scam, but at the end of the day he succeeded.
