These messages would end up being in a Delta Chat folder and unreadable in your normal email app as you need the Delta Chat app with the decryption key to read them. The messages may also contain data for things like emoji reacts, etc, which wouldn't be very human-readable.

It is recommended instead to create an account on a Chatmail server which is what the app walks you through by default. The signup is instant and doesn't require any personal information. You also don't even need to create a password as one is randomly generated for you. You mostly forget that there's an email account involved at all.

You send people the link or QR code for your Delta Chat account and it will automatically connect you as a verified contact.
