@inthehands @jenniferplusplus Personally, I don't think a world without work is a utopia at all, even if we could build one. At least to me, feeling that I am making a contribution is a large part of flourishing as a human being. Being good at a craft, too. Of course, that definitely doesn't have to take the form of trading labour for wages. I'd feel very weird about not working, even if I had the financial means to not do so.
To me, a better society would be one in which work is *more* valued, with serious worker protection, cooperative ownership and autonomy. But, yeah, that is probably not surprising.
(Caveat: I come from a working-class family in a country that has an odd work ethic.)
