@sjvn decent article, thanks for sharing. But it misses only hugely important point. Companies independently send your information to Facebook directly. I caught Safeway sharing my grocery purchases with Facebook, the link was the email address for the Safeway store card was the same for Facebook. I filed a do-not-share-my-information request for Safeway and the sharing stopped. (Off-Facebook Activity). You need to do this with every company you deal with on a daily basis, stupidly unrealistic.
