Wonder whether we'll get a "9/11 2.0"--another Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, etc. for that patriotic pull-in of recruitment. However...

Still wouldn't bring in the numbers imo, but I wonder whether the attempt will still happen.

Then again, usually those have been done with knowledge of--or at least subsequent acquiescence by--the sitting president. I don't see this particular president being up for such an event. Harder to do 9/11 *around* that (but not impossible). But maybe the presidency right after Trump will get that 2.0 boom.

And maybe citizenship will be streamlined for non-citizens (who won't be deported before then) with a concurrent actual deportation threat. Messages of "By their merit they're showing they're the best of America--that they truly want to preserve our freedoms! Are YOU signing up, young men? How are YOU any more American than they are?"
