    @mistergibson @ame Element desktop is proprietary software, as it uses electron and electron contains proprietary software.

    As for the other clients, the licensing is highly suspect.

    The official element server is proprietary software.

    I believe there are real free software Matrix clients, but that protocol really sucks to be honest.
