But.

I think there is also a point to be made that our local arts and culture need support, and foreign-owned media might not prioritize them, instead showing Hollywood dreck.

Or that local political and cultural issues require discussion and debate, that foreign-owned media won't host.

There are ways to require foreign-owned media companies to comply, but without actually having to live with the consequences, it might be hard to make them care.
