@japananon @adiz ATProto is very similar to LBRY and other web3 social protocols. The team replaced blockchain nodes with PDSes at the back end (this is a good thing), but there is still big centralized frontend that everyone uses. Alternative frontends can be created, but their developers need to compete with a core team, this is an uphill battle and no web3 social has ever achieved meaningful decentralization. Except maybe Nostr, which has many independent frontends (relays are basically the same thing as PDSes). But this is only because there was no core team with VC funding and bitcoiners really wanted it to be decentralized.
