- Embed this notice@realcaseyrollins @Natsura the only clause that gives them any purview over what a company does is the commerce clause, which itself only gave enumerated purview (which scotus basically handwaved as 'literally anything' despite it literally being a list), and even that clause only applies to interstate commerce. the fed cannot "ban" things. it is not legal. they can only deal with interstate disputes, basically.
they have purview over import and exports because they have it over the border. they could make an argument about foreign business owners, but they would have to make that a generic law or else it violates *other* shit like the equal protection acts and a whole string of laws and rulings that you can't make laws to snipe specific people.
