Fedipact is a signature pledge by administrators of online Fediverse instances to defederate from the Meta Threads platform.. Signatories believe that Meta will employ an "embrace, extend, and extinguish" strategy, becoming an existential threat to the Fediverse itself. Many also harbor negative opinions about Meta (the company behind Threads) itself. These administrators have pledged to unconditionally defederate with, or block, Threads. This would make it impossible for their users to see content that is hosted on Threads, or for Threads users to follow their users or see their content.
As of January 2025, there are over 800 signatures to the pact.
