Rich Felker@billyjoebowers Instagram isn't quite sure what it is. It started as an app using Facebook API to take photos, apply filters to make them look more glamorous, and share them on Facebook. But that wasn't sustainable because anyone could copy filters & make competition, so after Facebook bought it, they pivoted it to its own glamour lifestyle influencer feed platform, and it kinda evolved from there.
