@sally @adiz Some old cars are quite polluting, but of course governments don't want to do something actually environmental beneficial, like requiring that the manufacturer provide the source code to the ECU software so the emissions can be improved, or standardizing engine mounts, so you can put 500,000km on an engine and then drive into any mechanic and get a new engine with better emissions within the hour and drive away, but of course not.

Instead, a brand new car needs to be manufactured, full of proprietary software and poor quality components that fall apart after 200,000km.
