I didn't make a comparison, I wrote:
"Orange Pi 3b is a better option ($80)"
because with 8G of RAM and a 256G emmc it is a more capable system than the other with 16G, if necessary add an NVME SSD
And as someone mentioned, if an application requires more than 8G there are several mini-PC options that offer more robust solutions than both of these development boards.
I don't think that Rockship's change of position affects the RK3566 used in this development board, only future projects.
