@realcaseyrollins Nobody is drying out the state. California and the SW US generally get periodic droughts. There have been droughts within the past 3000 years that lasted more than a century.

The Democrats blaming Republicans (no, there's no way to conclusively tie the droughts to climate change) and Republicans counter-blaming Democrats (no, there's nothing the pollies can do to make it rain) are just too much. It's almost like people get so tied up into the issue of whether something is or is not global warming that they forget that things like tree ring series exist going back thousands of years, and we can see that droughts are a normal occurrence.

It will likely be decades before there is enough evidence to conclusively say that global warming is causing more / deeper droughts.
