Even if you get money, it doesn't replace people who didn't get out. Even if you and all your loved ones survived, it does replace all the old family stuff, keepsakes, and personal stuff that can get lost. Not to mention being in a total state of normlessness for at least 2~4 months while you figure out what the fuck to do.
As much as I hate LA, and despite the questions I have over official stories and how this happened, there are probably just a lot of regular Americans who got hit really hard.
