I don’t even see the artists and journalists who refuse to consider alternatives to a platformed existence to be greedy or shallow. They want to be heard and on the surface *not* being on big corporate platforms seems like hiding your work, failing to reach the public. An anti-corporate gesture with little value.
But what these artists and journalists are forgetting is that *their work* is the only thing that gives a platform any value. It’s like they can’t see their power.
