@hyc @RoboticistDuck @linear @justinto noise is another issue. My uncle was head of an R&D team at Michelin (and worked on airplane / space shuttle tires too; for years he would fly out to investigate any time a plane or shuttle tire blew out).

Remember those "tweel" tires everyone was gawking about because they don't require air? He's driven test models of those. Incredibly loud. They'd never be allowed on public roads.
