So you have to rank every candidate, and if the media is right and your first preference has no chance, your vote flows on to your second preference and so on down the line. I am often in the position of putting our most Trumpian candidate last, but knowing my vote will flow down eventually to someone I abhor slightly less. And I'm glad to at least have that much power.
